Star managers pass their exams with flying colours

Two members of the Star Employment team are celebrating after gaining their Certificate in Recruitment Practice.

Agency director Lucy Cashmore and Cannock branch manager Charlotte Horton found out they had passed their Level 3 certificate after sitting the exam in August.

Now both Lucy and Charlotte have relevant qualifications to go with their combined 37 years of experience, which they hope will help give their clients even more reassurance when using Star Employment Services.

Lucy said: “I am delighted to have received the pass result for both myself and Charlotte in this qualification. After over 25 years in the recruitment industry, it is easy to assume that you know all there is to know.

“One of the reasons I agreed to head up Star Employment Services was not only to be a professional, ethical recruitment business. I also wanted to go one step further and gain the qualification in recruitment practice.

“After eight weeks of coursework and revision came a two and a half hour exam, something I haven’t done since leaving school. I was slightly nervous to say the least. “I was thrilled with the result and it has spurred me on to do more and gain more qualifications in this industry.”

Lucy has been at Star Employment since 2014 and has ambitious plans to make the business a leading recruitment agency for the region.

On the back of the Wolverhampton branch’s success another office was opened in Cannock in April, managed by Charlotte.

She said: “After 12 successful years in recruitment, with progression from an apprentice administrator to branch manager, I felt it was only right to obtain a formal industry recognised qualification to uphold my reputation and experience.

"I am so proud. This has ignited the fire in my belly to progress even further.”
