Star Employment Achieve REC Gold Status

The REC Gold Standard Audited Status

Star Employment Services has been named as one of the top recruitment agencies in the UK for its ethics and commitment to professional standards. The West Midlands agency has attained ‘audited’ status with the Recruitment and Employment Federation (REC), the industry’s professional body.

Although it has thousands of member companies just 51 companies have currently attained the ‘gold standard’ audited status. Star Employment – which is part of the Midland News Association, publisher of the Express & Star – was assessed against the requirements of the Employment Agencies Act, the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003 and the REC’s Code of Professional Practice.

This scheme run by the REC, the body for the UK’s £25 billion private recruitment industry, is the most comprehensive audit of its kind. It provides successful recruiters with an accreditation that is recognised by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), confirming that the agency is conducting its business both ethically and in accordance with the legal and regulatory requirements.

Star Employment Services, run from Queen Street in Wolverhampton, was launched in 2012. Headed by Operations Manager Kylee Russon, the agency offers placements for skilled trades, engineering, secretarial and administration, sales, marketing, accounts and finance.

It also handles senior and executive appointments.

Kylee said: “We are absolutely delighted to have achieved REC Audited status. It is important for us because as part of the MNA we need to be seen as operating to the highest standards within our industry.

“It also means that our clients and applicants can rest assured they are in good hands.”

REC chief executive Kevin Green added: “Congratulations to Star Employment Services for achieving REC Audited status.
In doing so they join an elite group of recruitment agencies across the UK that has achieved this high standard

“This accreditation recognises that we have rigorously audited Star Employment Services and found that it is performing to the highest professional standards and represents best practice in our sector.”

The REC represents 3,506 corporate members with branches across the UK, as well as 4,744 individual members within the Institute of Recruitment Professionals.
